Description drewjensen.inbox 2008-02-01 20:58:22 UTC
Currently the only way to manage relationships between tables in the Base GUI is
from the Relationships Window.

When working with a database schema that has more then a few tables and
relationships this display becomes quite cluttered. The only way to remove a
table from the display is to delete it - but in so doing all relationships in
which this table participate are dropped.

The RFE is for the ability to hide a table in the display, without the
requirement of removing the relations it is part of.

This enhancement would have two benefits:

One - help reduce clutter during the creation and management of the
relationships, thereby reducing chances for user error in implementing the data
relationships in the database.

Two - aid in using this display as a way of documenting the database schema.

May be hiding of tables could be done with the introduction of different layers.
Each layer can be turn on/off.
