Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 86001
Database list should not be in Tools-Options
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:40:26 UTC
When a database is created in Openoffice.org it is very difficult to find it again in case you want to delete it. It took me ages to find them out in Tools-Options-Openoffice.org Base-Databases This is not nuser friendly at all. A user typically goes to Tools-Options to change the general behaviour of the application, not to perform an user action like deleting a database. The list of existing databases should be shown in the OpenOffice.org Base wizard instead. By the way, it is very strange that although the list of databases is shown in Tools-Options-Openoffice.org Base-Databases, the OpenOffice.org Base Wizard does not seem to find them. In Select database - Open an existing database there is no such list.. This is the place where it should be.
deleting a databes isn't an usur typical work The listbox "Open an existing database" shows only the latest databases you open.
"deleting a databes isn't an usur typical work" Well, it it is very common thing for anyone like me that was trying it for the first time an got it wrong. I imagine it may happen to all new database users..... "The listbox "Open an existing database" shows only the latest databases you open." I am sorry, in that case may be it should say "open one of the most recently used databases, and exercise your pacience looking for the other ones in the menu system... " :-( I am trying to get OpenOffice.org Base more user friendly. That is just what I want...
achnowledge -> not a really satisfying solution at all
