Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 86340
Tools->Options->OOo->View->Mouse->Middle mouse button UI error
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:44:03 UTC
Open a OOo document, in the menu, Tools->Options->OpenOffice.org->View, in the Mouse section, There is a Middle mouse button ListComboBox. An item named "Paste clipboard" should be "Paste Selected". Although sometimes it does paste clipboard, that's because we select before copy to clipboard. To confirm this, you can follow the steps: 1. Open a writer document, set mouse middle button to "Paste clipboard" as above; 2. Input Dummy text with "dt"+F3; 3. Select first word "He" and copy it to clipboard; //now, "He" in clipboard 4. Select the 2nd word "heard"; 5. Click middle button in the text. You'll find the word "heard" is inserted in the text.
Could somebody act on this issue so that it could be fixed for 3.0?
IMHO changing the Listbox string to something alike 'Paste Selected' would be the correct solution, as this function was AFAIR implemented to bring Xclipboard functionality to Windows. Peter
cd->fl,cj,bh: Could you please give redflagzhulihua an answer.

"Paste selected" would be fine.
I'm fine with "Paste Selected". Just for the record, the corresponding discussion on the UX (user experience) mailing list was started here: http://ux.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=discuss&msgNo=1276
We have just one day left to fix this issue.
