Editing a document with other people is a common issue, specially in an university environment. It
would be an awesome tool to be able to edit online documents with others, in which all of them may
work simultaneously from different locations. Basically, I propose a much more mature and robust way
to do what GoogleDocs aims to do.

I suggest to use an online server or a P2P protocol to do this stuff, in which the document is stored
online or in all of the editing computers and is synchronized continuously in real time. This way, no one
will difficult others work.

The creator should be the owner of the file, and he may invite others as coauthor (which may also edit
the document), revisor (which may only add commentaries) or reader.

Additionally, when someone wants to do an offline edit of a section, he may block that part to not be
edited by others until he synchronizes the new information.

Every-time someone wants to synchronize and offline edited file, he should do it in a similar way to “
track changesâ€.

Finally, the document should keep revisions in a similar way to GoogleDocs, so anyone may compare
previous editions and restore changes made when necessary.

I´m pretty sure that many students and researchers would be very pleased to left MS Office in favor of
OO with such a feature.
