Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 86554
Add option that resets tab dialogs to a default page after usage
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:33:02 UTC
(A quick but broad search did not appear to return any similar issues. Apologies if it is a dupe.) Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a Writer document 2. Go to "Format > Page" 3. Click on the "Columns" tab of the formatting dialog 4. Close the dialog. (Optional 4b: close OOo, close the quickstarter, restart the OS, do the hokey-pokey) 5. Re-open OOo to a Writer document 6. Go to "Format > Page" Expected behaviour: The formatting dialog should open up to the "Page" tab Actual behaviour: The formatting dialog opens up to the "Columns" tab. While this could be considered useful for users who frequently want to revisit the columns tab, there is a "Format > Columns" link already, so having the "Format > Page" item go to the most recently used tab in the formatting dialog is redundant. Cheers.
Currently this is a feature and works as designed. All tab dialogs in OOo will remember the last visited tab page in a dialog so that the dialog will open up with the last used tab. What I can imagine for the future is perhaps an option, that when active will reset tab dialogs to a default tab after it has been used.
