Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 87151
In OOo Impress, able to convert rectangle or other shapes with text to text area
Last modified: 2014-02-20 21:01:42 UTC
Able to convert a shape (rectangle, other regular shapes or irregular) with text in it to a text area. When right clicking on it, there are currently options to convert it to a number of other things like curve, polygon, bitmap and 3D. Convberting to a text area would be handy.
This is an feature request.
What do you mean with 'text area'? You can already add text and edit it like block text in most drawing shapes. What should be the result of the conversion? A rectangular text area with the original shape in the background, but not limiting text? Please describe in more detail. BTW, it is always possible to copy/paste all text in an object to a new text object by simply: - double-klicking on the text of the non-text object (this will select all) - copy (CTRL-C) - klick somewhere on the page (deselecting the shape) - paste (CTRL-V)
