Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 87529
Implement Issue 82460 (thrilling 3D slide transitions using OpenGL) for Windows build
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:48:16 UTC
.
This is an enhancement and not a defect. Set to new and change the target.
One for you.
I was also expecting these cool OpenGL transitions to be in the Windows build - the website states that it is available for all platforms ( not just for *nix builds ). Hopefully it'll be fairly easy to port the code across to all platforms for a point release update - they look great, and could really raise the use of Impress over PowerPoint for many people who present frequently.
Any updates on the status of this? I read where this could possibly be a Google Summer of Code 2009 project (http://freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/ooo- build/SummerOfCode/2009#head-198bb9eb806fde8b40cec00bfb39806fe9a8a5be) and that some initial work has been done. How much work has been done and how much more still needs to be done? I see getting the OpenGL transitions working on Windows being a huge plus for Openoffice.org. -Jared
it compiles for windows, but does not work, there is just a black screen. So for someone with OpenGL knowledge, it is probably a quick project, but of course you never know when trying to find the issue's root cause
Any news on this issue? Thanks!
Any chance of Sun or Novell picking this up as a project to complete? I know Novell has been a big proponent of the Windows/Linux interoperability. This would be a great spot for some help from them. I know see the MacOS build is slated to receive the OpenGL transitions. That leaves Windows out in the cold as the lone platform not supporting this.
