Description ekriirke 2008-04-05 00:09:43 UTC
When performing a filter on auto filter, and the result set is shorter in height
(where you can see all rows) than the window, you can see what was on the screen
before the filter was applied. The window is not erased below the end of the
rows, I can manually erase it by dragging another application window over OO, or
by minimizing and restoring OO.

I checked with "2.4.0 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP:
[680m12(Build9286)]" and can NOT confirm the reported effect.

- attach a screenshot and a sample document
- contribute information concerning your graphic card

Attached is a dummy spread sheet, and a screen shot of the error.
Try filtering by "Don't show me" then by "Only show this"

Mobile Intel (R) 965 Express Chipset v6.14.10.4785
ATI All-In-Winder 9800 Series v8.241.0.0
plus a couple other machines and even in a remote desktop session - which
ensures no graphic acceleration.

...I've never understood why people blame drawing errors on drivers and/or
graphics cards with non-3D applications that simply use windows GDI (or other
applicable generic API).

Confirm with 2.4.0!

You can easily create your own test file:

1. Open new speradsheet
2. fill 'A1:A40' with "1"
3. fill 'A41:A60' with "2"
4. Click on 'A1'
5. <cntrl>+<a> to mark all
6. Menu 'Data -> Filter -> Standard Filter -> "column A = 1"' <ok>
   only rows with "1" visible as expected
7. Menu 'Data -> Filter -> Standard Filter -> "column A = 2"' <ok>
   Expected: only rows with "2" visible
   Actual: additionally rows with "1" (but without row number) visible
