Using a Sony VAIO laptop in "Extended desktop" mode (connecting an extra monitor
to the laptop and using it as a second screen), if I move any OpenOffice
application (I tested with Writer, Impress and Calc) window to the extended
screen and try to:

File -> Save As...

the result is shown is the image attached.
The laptop display is using 1366x768 resolution and the extra monitor is using
1024x768.
The monitor model is Samsung SyncMaster 793df

does it also happen with the newest version 3.2.1 or the upcomming 3.3.0?

i can't help you... i'm not using neither the vaio, windows nor openoffice
