Description heidelberger 2008-04-21 14:33:44 UTC
The problem I have with a distinct document:

I have a document with a figure in it (copied from a power point presentation).
This figure consists of a group (1st level) of graphical objects (rectangles
etc.) and contains subgroups (2nd level). If I edit a subgroup (2nd level) and I
exit this group by clicking on an object which is outside the subgroup, I cannot
exit the outer group (1st level) anymore. Usually it should work to just click
on any other object or to select the group, right-click and choose group > exit
group. But it's not possible to select any graphics object anymore. The only way
is to reload the document.

I could not reproduce this by creating a similar constellation in a new document.

It works properly when using the "exit group" option in the group menu while
editing the subgroup instead of exiting the group by clicking on another object.

It also works properly if I copy the group and paste it somewhere outside the frame.

Unfortunately I cannot attach the document due to confidentiality reasons.

Please send your document directly to me (es@openoffice.org) and set
mru@openoffice.org as CC.

Please also try to rproduce it with a current and original OOo build:

Same problem occurs with 2.4 and 3.0.0beta.

I'm sorry that I cannot provide the document. I know this is issue is not very
helpful without it. But it contains confidential business data of my company.

However, I tried to isolate the problem by cutting down the document so that I
can send you the problem part only, but if I remove parts of the document, the
problem disappears.

Moreover, if I cut the group out of the frame and paste it outside the frame it
works as it should. If I cut and paste it back into the frame, the same problem
occurs again.

Last but not least, I saved the document in doc format and this group and two
more disappeared.

MRU->OD: see the group on page two of the attached document. Enter the group and
then enter the subgroup (containing the Yahoo logo). When now clicking in some
other place of the page, the groups mode won't be fully left. It is not possible
to to select any of the objects anymore (except by using the "capture" tool of
the drawing tools).
This does not happen when the other stuff of the document is deleted or the
object is pasted in a different place.
