Description corigo 2008-04-23 10:04:02 UTC
I'm not sure what difficulties on the programmatic side are preventing this
feature, it is a major barrier for my use, so I must post.

1. Create a Column Span across x # of columns
2. Insert a New column inbetween two of the spanned columns
3. Error message: Inserting into merged ranges not possible

Why? All I want to do is have the Merged Range extended to include the new
column. Not that complicated from a business logic perspective! This is the
second biggest inconvenience that keeps me from uninstalling Excel entirely.

Can reproduce it in OOo-Dev_OOO300_m3_en-US on WinXP.
Im my opinion, maybe it's not a bug but an enhancement or a feature.
