Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 88872
File shared on W2k server, faild with OOo 2.4
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:31:33 UTC
1 files server with W2kSP4 1 PC with ubuntu 8.04 and OOo 2.4 When I open a file from the W2K server with OOo2.4, a textbox ask me the log and the pass of the server. It do that for all files I open. If I choose "Cancel", it do an internal error (message bos), and I can NOT open other files from the server with OOo. I must reboot. There is no problem to use server files with other software. There is no problem with OOo 2.3. ++
Does not appear to relate to distribution. Re-assigning to Word Processor component (might not be correct, possibly framework would be more appropriate). From the description, this would appear to be a regression, and (if confirmed) a possible show stopper in 2.4.1/3.0 Beta.
Framework issue.
There's some essential information missing to be able to evaluate this bug report: What network protocol is used when connecting to the windows 2000 system ? If Samba is used then please tell us which version is in use and give us some more information about the Samba configuration. Which file system do you use on the windows 2000 system ?
smbclient --version = Version 3.0.28a protocole IP, via samba W2K file system = NTFS OOo 2.4 , core=1:2.4.0-3ubuntu6 thanks ++
cd->hro: You're much more familiar with network file systems and Windows. May be you can give more information why this does work with OOo 2.3 but not with 2.4.
If you see a text box asking you to enter login data, I guess this my be the gnome vfs layer using the gnome file dialog. There's no such textbox in OOo code and I doubt that accessing the libc file APIs would force such a login dialog. I'm not aware of any changes towards 2.4 that might cause the different behaviour. BTW: This issue is unconfirmed - so why has it the status new ?
It IS an OOo Dilogbox (With Ok, Cancel, Help) In french: Title : Nom d'utilisateur et mot de passe requis When click on help button, it's the help of OOo Focus on "Open file using WebDev or HTTPS" (Ouverture d'un document en uilisant WebDAV ou HTTPS)
Ok, I think I found: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/216990 file pam_smbpass.so is not present was not include in a package. Just install libpam-smbpass (sudo apt-get install libpam-smbpass) Thanks a lot.
