Description steve_friedman 2008-05-05 19:26:43 UTC
Given a table with an already defined table formula that needs editing, there is
no obvious way to bring up the formula edit bar to modify the formula. Double
clicking didn't work, there was no obvious item on the menu bar, right mouse
click didn't bring up an obvious menu item.

I presume that this is possible, but I couldn't figure out how to do it.

No issue, but a support request. Please use newsgroup, mailinglist, or forum.

It is the key F2. You can customize your toolbar to get it with a button. It is
the entry with icon f(x) and text "Formula" in the category "Insert".

I didn't need support (as I was shown how by someone else). My point was that
this wasn't obvious and that I think that it would be useful, when
right-clicking in a cell with a formula to get an "edit formula" option.

MRU->FL: That's true, only insiders will now the way of hitting F2 (or the
"equal" sign key) for entering formula mode in a table. An entry for the table
(also context-) menu would be quite useful in my eyes.

Well, it is mentioned in the help, but it is quite painful to find it in the
correct one of the bunch of entries for "table" topic.

As a minor correction, I would note that hitting the '=' key (the method that I
used to enter the formula originally) will erase the old formula. Only the F2
key allows for editing the old formula.
