When trying to copy a table into the clipboard, you can not highlight the table
from the outside left to the outside right to do a copy.  You have to start
above the table.  

This put extra stuff (a blank line) into the copy that has to be removed after
the paste.

Of course, it is possible. Just start the selection inside the fitst cell and
drag the mouse over the rest of the table... that's it. 
You can either place the cursor left of the first cell (you will get an arrow
cursor now) and while holding left mouse button drag down the mouse.

Thank you for the tip.

Problem:  What you gave me for a work around should ONLY copy
the contents of the table NOT both the table and the contents.

So, lets leave this open and change the bug to the following:

"It is impossible to copy only the contents of an entire table
without copying the table with it."  Please change the subject
to this new title.

To meet the needs of just 1) copying the contents or 2) copying both table
and contents, this is the way it should work:

1) To copy only the table contents: start the selection inside the first
cell and drag the mouse over the rest of the table

2) To copy the table along with its contents: highlight the table from the
outside left to the outside right
