Description kiharoa 2008-05-24 19:32:07 UTC
The Maori language is not available in the Western languages list.

To re-create issue:
Ensure operating system locale is en-NZ.
Open any OpenOffice.org product.
From the menu-bar, select "Tools|Options"
From the Options Window, select "Language Settings|Languages"
Open drop down box "Western"
Maori language is not listed.

The Maori language consists of ASCII characters + macronised vowel characters,
i.e āēīōūĀĒĪŌŪ. Character sets ISO-8859-4 and ISO-8859-13 support the Maori
language.

This issue also affects OOo 3.0 Beta.
This issue has been confirmed under Windows Vista only.

Have changed the component category to what I think is more appropriate? And
re-assigned issue to the owner of the component.

Confirmed issue exists on Linux, so I think it's safe to say the problem is
Platform and OS agnostic - updated categories accordingly.

Set target milestone I would like the issue fixed in.

No word from OOo devs - are there details missing?
Comment 2 kiharoa 2008-06-08 16:06:22 UTC
After querying the issue-tracker... I found that I will need to supply locale
data for OpenOffice.org.

Have corrected the sub-component category (for OOo 3.0 I'm guessing it should be
i18npool not localedata).

Have also re-assigned the issue to myself (I hope), until I supply the required
xml files.

kiharoa , please create the needed files and then assign the issue to
er@openoffice.org
Comment 4 thorsten.ziehm 2008-07-10 10:46:02 UTC
It isn't possible to get this done in 3.0, because we are near before code
freeze. I change the target to 3.x.

kiharoa, please provide the needed file and send this issue to
er@openoffice.org. He will then decide which target is possible.

SBA: This issue has a target set but is still in state of "Unconfirmed".
Please re-check with OOo 3.0 or younger if it is (still) valid.
Then confirm it or set an appropriate resolution.
Thank you.

unfortunately it was missed to reassign the issue to er, so he didn't get a
chance to look at it.

confirming issue. While "Maori (New Zealand)" is available as language for
document text, it isn't possible to choose it in the Tools|Options → Language
Settings dialog.

reassigning to er

please provide the locale data as lined out here:

Thanks a lot.

Surely not a defect but an enhancement, and as long as we don't have locale data
it doesn't make sense to set a target.
Comment 11 Marcus 2017-05-20 11:33:41 UTC
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
