Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 90411
Find & Repace High Lighted Cells
Last modified: 2008-08-22 11:05:23 UTC
I high lighted a few cells, selected 'Find & Replace' from 'Edit' menu. Filled in the 'Find' parameter, and the 'Repace With' parameter, clicked 'Repace All', and the program changed ALL of the find parameter throughout the document, not just in my high lighted cells.
Hi michaelmccann , I'm glad to tell you it isn't a issue. Please open the 'Find & Replace' and click "More Options" button, then select the "Current selection only" check box If you just want to change the area you have selected.
As JiMing said, this is not a defect. But if it's posible to make it a enhancement? Because if a user select a area, usually, he(she) intend to search in the area. This can be divided into 2 conditions: 1. No area selected or select all: disable "current selection only" check box, search entire sheet(or all sheets, depend on the selection of "Search in all sheet") 2. Area selected: Enable "Current selection only" checkbox and check it by default At present, "Current selection only" checkbox are disabled when selected area contains no data. If we persist this feature, maybe we need a confirmation from user which is a bit complex. What do you think about this ideal? Frank?
