Description alex.thurgood 2008-06-15 08:53:42 UTC
Tested with OOo Aqua beta 3.0 Intel Mac OSX 10.4.11

1) Create a new text document.
2) Open the list of datasources via the menu Display - Datasource because
Command-F4 doesn't work (it just makes the loudspeakers quieter).
3) Select the bibliography database. Select table. The table should appear in
the DSB pane.
4) Select a field name and try and drag and drop it to anywhere on your
document. Nothing happens.

The only way to insert fields from a database is to use the Insert > Field >
Other menu entry.

I confirm that this is Mac specific, the problem does not occur on Linux with
the beta 3.0.

change owner, set target
Comment 3 stephan_schaefer 2008-07-21 15:37:12 UTC
ssa->fs: this seems to be a bug in the drag and drop implementation of the mac
port. I guess pl should have a look. Issue #89122 most probably has the same
root cause.
Comment 4 Frank Schönheit 2008-07-22 14:56:33 UTC
fs->pl: As seen here ... The problem is if the OOo format name cannot be
translated into a system format name, then no dragging happens at all (we do not
even receive an AcceptDrop event).

Since we saw a lot of other places which were affected by this problem (for
instance dragging content from the navigator into the document in Writer, and
probably everything which uses SotExchange::RegisterFormatName), I take the
liberty to change the target to OOo 3.0.
