Description bollin 2008-06-26 19:44:09 UTC
ODF supports an element dc:language in meta.xml. OOorg does not write such an
element. It would be useful to find out the (primary) language of a document.
The bug is probably not specific to writer only.

this element is not set because currently ooo does not have a document language;
it has *three*.

i guess you can assign this one to mba, he might already have duplicates...

@MBS: Please have a look.

As mru wrote: there is no such thing as a primary document language; there are
only three primary languages for the possible script types.

The only language that could written as dc:language is the language of the
metadata. This will require additional UI (the user must be able to enter the
language somewhere, e.g. in the DocumentInfo dialog) and IMHO is a feature or
enhancement. It's also questionable whether OOo should guess what this attribute
shall be - it would be better to ask the ODF TC for clarification.

It is not a defect as dc:language currently doesn't make a lot of sense until it
is better defined in the ODF spec. As I would like to get that clarified I set
the target to 3.x
