Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 91151
gnome-vfs locking should go up-stream
Last modified: 2013-07-29 17:55:17 UTC
This is a followup of issue 29152. gnome-vfs locking is implemented in ooo-build, but couldn't be up-streamed yet because the gnome-vfs used for up-stream builds is too old. Setting to patch even though no patch directly attached here - the patches are available in ooo-build, and once were already part of webdavandgvfslocking1 CWS.
mhu->kendy: sorry for not responding earlier. Could you please describe what the owner of this issue is supposed to do? Currently, I don't see anything actionable for me here. So, reassigning to you for further clarification.
mhu: Not sure ;-) Probably notify me when the gnome-vfs is updated up-stream - I don't follow what version updates happen there... Is it possible, please?
Note that the patch to gnome-vfs that adds locking-on-open functionality and implements it for the smb backend was never (and will presumably never be, as gnome-vfs is deprecated) upstreamed to gnome-vfs.
I'm adding this comment to all open issues with Issue Type == PATCH. We have 220 such issues, many of them quite old. I apologize for that. We need your help in prioritizing which patches should be integrated into our next release, Apache OpenOffice 4.0. If you have submitted a patch and think it is applicable for AOO 4.0, please respond with a comment to let us know. On the other hand, if the patch is no longer relevant, please let us know that as well. If you have any general questions or want to discuss this further, please send a note to our dev mailing list: dev@openoffice.apache.org Thanks! -Rob
