Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 91926
Incorrect indentation of bullet points
Last modified: 2008-08-15 14:13:04 UTC
OOo 3.0 Beta 2 displays bullet point indentation different than previous versions: When opening presentations (from previous versions, tested with 2.4 and 3.0 Beta 1) with bullet point texts, wrapped text lines are incorrectly indented (not below the beginning of the first line's text, but a bit further on the right). I was unable to correct this misbehaviour in the Numbering/Bullets settings. This breaks the layout of existing presentations.
Created attachment 55256 [details] sample document showing the behaviour
Reproducible. Reassigned.
The file format for bullets in impress changed significantly for OOo 3.0 beta2 do make it a valid Open Docuent Format. See issue 75927 for more information. Documents created with OOo 3.0 beta2 and newer are now valid ODF documents but the bullets are not compatible with OOo 3.0 beta1 and OOo 2.x versions. OOo 3.0 beta2 has a mechanism to convert the incompatible bullets upon load. This mechanism had an error, it should null out all "before text" and "first line" indents from the styles. This is fixed with an internal issue and will be integrated with cws impress148 soon for OOo 3.0 final. The problem with OOo 3.0 beta1 documents is that the mechanism currently does not recognize beta1 documents as documents that needs to be converted. It only converts OOo 2.x documents and very early OOo 3.0 pre beta versions. This was due to the fact that this feature has finished development during the finishing phase of OOo 3.0 beta1 and didn't know about the final build number. I will fix this with this issue now. Please not that this documents are imported wrongly because of the two issues described above. The import will be fixed for OOo 3.0 final. But as soon as you save the wrognly imported documents, you will end up with a document that will not be fixed automatically. To fix it, you have to set all "before text" and "first line" indents for all paragraphs with bullets and for all styles to 0.
fixed in cws impress150 please note that I also added the fix from cws impress148 to this cws so that it can be tested completly
