Description harmhilvers 2008-07-29 20:52:23 UTC
The iWork suite of Apple has this wonderful feature called 'Document Warnings'.
It is a small dialog that comes up whenever a document (text, spreadsheet,
presentation) is opened that uses features that are not or not fully supported
in the application.

For example (hypothetical situation), if OOo wouldn't support page numbers and
I'd open a Word document that does use page numbers, this dialog would tell me
that OOo tried to open the document but failed to load the page numbers since
that feature is unsupported.

If I understand http://www.shallowsky.com/blog/tech/ODT-pseudo-standard.html
correctly OOo currently only tells the user that some 'features may not be
supported', but that isn't exactly informative to the end user.
