Insert-Indexes and Tables-Indexes and Tables, insert an index. pop up "Insert Index/Table" dialog, don't choose "Protected against manual changes", click OK. 4. Put cursor in the index, insert an object (For example: Frame, Media) 5. Right Click in the index, choose "Edit Indexes and Tables", pop up dialog, click OK. 6. The inserted object disappear, click undo, then click redo, Writer crashes.

@AMA: Please have a look
if needed - crash report ID is rrru4uc.
Due to our workload and resources (development as well as QA) I've to retarget this issue to OOo3.2.
Björn, please take over
This bug has been verified on Linux running OOo 2.4.1 680m17 (Build 9310).
great precise step-by-step description! I can confirm that the bug also reproduced in version 2.4.2 on winxp(service pack 3) system.
Upon follow-up testing of this issue, it was discovered that skipping step 2 resulted in a crash as well.
retargeting 3.3
Trying to reproduce this on DEV300_m86 crashed already at step 5 because at http://hg.services.openoffice.org/DEV300/file/DEV300_m86/sw/source/core/undo/undobj1.cxx#l202 pTxtNd is a NULL pointer.
OOo 3.3 is nearly final. I change the target of this issue to OOo 3.x. Please find a solution and set a correct target, if you know when a fix can be integrated.
pls. reassign or close issues. Thx.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
