Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 925
performance of loading/saving xml files bad
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:12:47 UTC
When saving a Excel format file, the system will ask if you will save to the "better" OpenOffice Calc XML format, if you answer "yes" a small .sxc file will be saved (less than 100k, while the original Excel file may take about 1 MB). The resulted .sxc file cannot be subsequently opened by OpenOffice. If the original file is in .sxc format, it seems that the above problem will not appear.
Not reproducible. Please attach a bugdoc or give a more detailed description.
Problem reproduced with bugdoc.
*.sxc -file could be loaded but with a very poor performance.
I think this is fixed, but I'm currently working on the performance so it is possible, that the performance will go much better in the next time than now. In the next version the performance should be much better, but I hope to find more performance problems.
changing QA contact from bugs@ to issues@
please close it, if you think it is fast enough
oh, this was the wrong bug, I take it back
I wanted to close this bug, but in the current version it needs 1 minute 25 seconds to load the ny.xls (saved as sxc). I think this is to slow, but at the moment I can nothing do, because we want to ship the 6.0 of Star Office and I don't want to insert new bugs while performance optimizing. After the 6.0 releases I will work on it again.
I take it again.
P1->P2; not ooo1.0

performance should increase till beta
now P3, because it is much better, but not good enough
change summary
hopefully fixed in apps61beta2
I want to close this general issue now. If there are some special problems I think special issues will be a better solution.
Found fixed on cws Apps61Beta2 using Windows and Solaris
