Last modified: 2013-02-24 20:42:28 UTC
Below are attached the .dic and .aff files for pt-BR spellchecking dictionary. We hope these files be loaded into the code for the up-comning 3.0 release. Thank you Olivier

Hi Thank you for accepting. The updated dictionary can be obtained as an extension in the following link http://www.deso-se.com.br/downloads/broffice.org/Vero_pt_BR_V200AOC.oxt Thank you again.
If deadlines are still open, please consider the most recent update of our spelling dictionary, which includes now an hyphenator, available at: http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/Vero Thank you
Pavel, can you look at this? If it is not possible for 3.0.1, would be nice to get it for 3.1. @Mh: anything has been integrated on 3.0.1?
Martin, is there any reason not to include the attached files? I could ram it into my CWS mba31issues01 that already contains some new dictionaries.
We would like not to miss this opportunity (3.0.1) and time frame, wherever possible. Since Jan 2009, the official pt-BR spelling is the one supported by this extension, and OO got a lot of positive press attention due to the single fact that it is THE ONLY Office suite with support to the new Portuguese spelling agreement. Not even Microsoft has this, and they denied to provide any deadline for their spelling tool. Thanks in advance
@ohallot: I forgot to mention that if we want to prebundle the extension with OOo, I have to remove the license acceptance step from description.xml. This is not a problem as (L)GPL does not require to show the license to users. But I wanted to mention it in case you have a problem with it.
@mba: Absolutely no problem with that. Please go ahead.
OK, so it's fixed in CWS mba31issues01
On behalf of the Brazilian community, I thank you very much indeed.
In case no one has another idea: the only thing I see to verify here is that spell checking in pt-BR still works
Verified in CWS mba31issues01. Spell check gives meaningful proposals for PT_BR spelling errors.
dictionaries/pt_BR/description.xml as integrated with CWS mba31issues01_OOO310 (revision 267837) still contained a license acceptance block. This broke the pack process at least for unxmacxi.pro, because the dictionary extension dict-pt.oxt could not get registered. I therefore removed this license acceptance directive (see revision 268311, done as masterfix for OOO310 m2). Please have a look whether that's OK so. If not, feel free to open a follow-up issue.
Hi Following M5 localized build, the spellchecker does no work any more. All text in pt-BR typed in a writer document is flagged by the red wavy underline. Spellchecker does no suggest any replacement. If the paragraph is defined as English, the english text is OK. If the paragraph is defined as pt-PT, then the text is OK Investigating the installation I see this path: /home/oliva/m5/openoffice.org3/share/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/jWPbmt_/dict-pt.oxt and the strange thing is /dict-pt.oxt. Should it be /dict-pt-BR.oxt instead? May be an adjustment in the build script. Sorry but this is a true SHOW-STOPPER.
Also, please the extension where you got the .aff and .dict files also contains the hyphenator file. Is there any reason not to have included it? http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/Vero
No, the name of the extension is correct. And it doesn't matter BTW. The only thing that counts is what is written in the dictionaries.xcu.
Is there a reason why the hyphenation shouldn't be included? Of course it would be possible to split that, but my assumption was that users would like to have as few extensions as possible.
About this last comment: sure we don't want extension proliferation. The extension indicated (Vero= dicts and hypehnation for pt-BR) already has the hyphenation file included and the dictionary.xcu (in M5) has it defined inside. Only that the file hyph_pt_BR.dic is missing. I am attaching it here to make things easier.
Created attachment 60910 [details] hyphenation dictionary to be included in 3.1
PT_BR spelling does not work at all in m5: All words marked as wrong, no proposals in dialog or context. Works well with fresh downloaded oxt (Version 2.0.3 that contains both spell and hyph). It should be easy and safe to exchange for 3.1 SBA->MBA: Please proceed.
I proposed this one being a stopper on the releases mail alias.
some forgot to add this issue to the stopper list :-(
I discovered a bug in the dictionary.xcu file. Fixed now.
please verify; Linux build is done, Windows build is still running
Verified in CWS sw31bf08.
Hello Saddly, the spell checker still broken in RC1 (buildOOO31_m9), downloaded from http://openoffice.c3sl.ufpr.br/extended/3.1.0rc1/ as package BrOOo_3.1.0rc1_20090402_LinuxIntel_install_pt-BR.tar.gz All words are marked as wrong spells. Language was set to Portuguese Brazil in the Options. and besides as I told above, the extension also has an hyphenation dictionary which was not included in the build and which soffice complains: Couldn't find file /home/oliva/rc1/broffice.org3/program/../share/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/8ALiY3_/dict-pt.oxt/dictionaries/hyph_pt_BR.dic Again, we are in a situation of a SHOW STOPPER.
SBA->MBA: Please have a look. Changes from CWS sw31bf08 not in master?
SBA->TL: As discussed with MBA, please proceed, thx.
File dictionaries/pt_BR/dictionaries.xcu hasn't been commited on the CWS sw31bf08. Now fixed on the MWS OOO310_m10 @270847
Reassigned to me in order to re-verify in OOO310_m10. Just asked OBO to also put this into DEV300 build, too.
Fixed in DEV300_m47 @270849
Verified in OOO310_m10 on Windows and Linux: Spellchecking and Hyphenation works as expected with PT_BR text.
*** Issue 100980 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
OK in OOO310_m11 (= OOo 3.1) Closed.
