ffice loader executable

made it into OOO300_m4 and cause that OOo app bundle references soffice as an application to be run
in Info.plist, but there is no such application.

As such, OOO300_m4 is unusable without manually inserting the symlink into installed application.

Sorry, I was not aware of the issue existence (was not at home this week end).

After one hour searching what was happening, I discovered, that in the Info.plist, soffice.bin has been
changed in soffice.

And then, I understood other side effects:

- you cannot drag and drop files when launching OpenOffice.org in command line with gdb : the
menus are not available, no icon in the dock .. etc
- gdb cannot attach soffice process
+ some other, but I think they are secondary.

Local workaround: s/soffice/soffice.bin/ in the Bundle wolved at least the issues above.

Just curious, who did this change ?

Comment 12 kai.sommerfeld 2008-08-31 19:21:44 UTC
hro introduced a new binary (soffice) that basically launches soffice.bin and
restarts soffice.bin in case it crashes. This is the same behavior we have on
all other platforms (Windows: soffice.exe + soffice.bin, Linux+Solaris+...:
soffice script + soffice.bin).

I have no idea why the new binary got not part of OOo installation set. The fix
should be to include the new binary in the instset, not to change Info.plist to
point to soffice.bin
