Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 92872
"operation was started with an invalid parameter" when saving on Network drive
Last modified: 2014-01-31 13:39:45 UTC
Dear Users, i'm trying to open an existing word 2000 document, edit it and save it on a network share (Z:\\qm\subfolder\subfolder\example-file.doc with a recent[1] version of OpenOffice. I hit save file as and apply just a "-test" to the filename for testing purpose. Filetype (Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP (.doc) is selected. Now the following message comes up: "Error on saving example-file.doc Wrong Parameter. The operation was started with an invalid parameter. Now, a 33kb file exists (the original filesize was about 200kb) which cant be opened. Read and write permissions exists for the user who is performing that action on the share. Any help is greatly appreciated [1] http://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/openoffice/localized/de/2.4.1/OOo_2.4.1_Win32Intel_install_de.exe
This was just a typo in the report. path is Z:\subfolder ...
Framework issue.
TM->bauerstefan: Did you try to attach the -test behind "example-file.doc" or behind "example-file" ? Is automatic filename extension checked ? Did you use the system file-picker or OOo's own one ? Please check with a more actual version like a m2 !
hi, automatic filename extension is checked. i attached -test behind example-file What do you mean with system file-picker ? We did not changed anything - it's just a clear installation without any modifications. where do i get a more recent versions like the m2? I have to admit that we need strongly a german version for our users :p thanks in advance
