Description nicklevinson 2008-08-21 01:27:32 UTC
In File > Save As > the Save dialog, to make it easier when users save many
documents and need feedback to remember which file type is currently being
applied, especially since opening the drop-down list does not show the last
selection, next to "File type" please disclose the file type currently being
saved as. For example, when Text Encoded is the last type selected, the label
that is shown above the drop-down list should change itself from "File type"
to "File type: Text Encoded" or "Save as file type: Text Encoded". If no type
is named in the collapsed label, that would mean that no type is selected. If a
default is in effect, the default should be named in the label until changed.

I'm using OOo Writer 2.4.0, without Java Runtime Environment, on Linux Fedora
Core 4. Information initializing your query form is irrelevant, as it's from a
public terminal.

Thanks.

Reassigned to requirements.

More info: The 2 menus occur when Writer is running with the Gnome 2.10.0
desktop. When the desktop for KDE 3.4.0-6 Red Hat is running, only 1 menu
appears in the dialog.

This is mentioned in this issue only as additional info. For an issue on the
number-of-menus discrepancy-per-desktop, see issue 93234.
