Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 93070
database wizard - open an exisitng db - UI confusing
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:36:18 UTC
Start at the database wizard (e.g. open OOBase from the start menu). Under "What do you want to do?" select "open an existing database file". --- Scenario 1: the file I want to open is in the "recently used" drop down box The way I expect this to work is as follows: select a file from the drop down box click "open" file opens What actually happens when I click "open": I get a dialogue to let me browse to a different file of my choice What I am supposed to do: select a file from the drop down box click "finish" Scenario 2: the file I want to open is NOT in the "recently used" drop down box I was totally confused as I could not see how to browse to an existing file which wasn't in the drop down box. I closed OOBase and used Windows to find the file then opened it myself. What I am supposed to do is click "open" right underneath the drop down box showing a file name that I do not want to open, then browse to the desired file. ---- Could you rename the "open" button to something clearer like "find" or "browse".
