Description eruditehermit 2008-09-02 23:04:36 UTC
There is a regression in the outline formatting behaviour with the new builds of
openoffice.org 3. In 2.4.1 From any location, shift+tab would move the numbering
and the start of text by the same amount while a tab on its own would move
things right. In the new builds, the tab moves the number and the start position
for text input right but after the default position, only the number moves left
when using shift+tab.

How to reproduce:
1) Open up writer
2) Go to Format-->Bullets & Numbering
3) go to outline tab
4) select any outline style
5) in the main writer window, hit shift+tab or move left in the manipulation
menu for bullets and numbering.
6) The move left button is greyed out in the manipulation menu for bullets and
numbering and shift+tab moves only the number left, not the start position of
text input.
7) Compare to the movement of both the number in the list and text start
position when moving right.

MRU->OD: when using Shift-Tab in first paragraph of a numbered list, the
Tab-Position will not correctly be adapted.

Since this is actually a regression, can I nominate that it be fixed for 3.0.1?
It seems to be a small fix that is required and I say this in the humblest
possible way as I am not skilled enough to fix it myself and I understand that
even though it seems simple to me, it may require a lot of effort on your part.
However, the fix would be very appreciated and would allow me to upgrade.

QA->eruditehermit: this is not really a serious regression, thus it will be
fixed in OO 3.1. This is new functionality in numbering/bullets area which is
not working by 100%. The old functionality can be got when ODF 1.1 is activated
in the Load/Save options.
As a workaround you can adapt the wrong tab poition after using Shift-Tab key in
Format.Numbering.Position.
