Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 93894
Trendlines in some OpenXML files disappear
Last modified: 2014-03-03 18:33:54 UTC
I have some OpenXML files generated by M$ Office 2007, which use trendlines in the files. They can be viewed normally in Office 2007, but when I try to open it in OpenOffice 3 RC1, I cannot see the trendline or the fit formula. I tried to convert the OpenXML .xlsx file to old Office 2003 .xls format, and I still cannot see the trendline. I do not know if this is related to the fact that OOo does not have polynomial regression support as we try to fit a quadratic function.

Now I think the problem is related to the polynomial regression support, if I change the trendline to linear function. I can see the line and the formula, the position of the formula on the plot is weird though
We have a binary (not XML) Excel file with a polynomial trendline. The trendline is not shown when opening in Calc 3.0. Excel offers 6 types of trendlines. Calc only offers four. The polynomial trendline is missing in Calc. This needs to be added. Let me know if you need my sample Excel file. We are running Windows.

Any chance of getting a Target milestone on this? Thanks.
