Description pfeldman 2008-09-22 06:08:08 UTC
NOTE: I'm submitting this issue again because my previous submission is not
showing up in the system. I suspect that some issues are getting lost.

This problem is reproducible in version 300m5 (build 9350), and affects the
Writer and Draw components (and probably other components as well).

When an image is resized using one of the corner handles, the aspect ratio
is not preserved. This does not conform to the expected behavior of a
Windows application.

TM->WG: please take over, thanks !

Reproducible, yes. But hitting the SHIFT-key while resizing keeps the aspect
ratio. This behaviour is intended.
Changing this to enhancement.

Word 2007 defaults to maintaining aspect ratio by default so it would be wise to
do this in OpenOffice.org as well to keep from confusing users. Perhaps
switching shift to do a non aspect ratio preserving resize would be better.
Although I'm not sure how much use the not maintaining aspect ratio 'feature'
actually is to begin with.

Unfortunately, there is no progress on this enhancement.
ccheney is absolutely right. Users who are switching from Word to OpenOffice.org are really confused. The Shift-behaviour should be inversed or at least there should be an option in the settings menu.

Duplicates ??
In Write 17604
In impress 85451

should work the same way in write, impress and draw, Ive also seen requests for exact pixel display when resizing which also seems like a fair addition to those that actually use this uhum crap instead of Adobe Indesign/Illustrator.

I'm a happy OOo user tho and i also have Adobes products, but unfortunately only at work ;-)
