Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 94337
Text clipped in small table columns
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:11:18 UTC
Aaron Rotenberg - Sep 25, 2008 OOO300m5 Impress on Windows XP SP3: 1. Start Impress. 2. Hit "Create" to accept the default blank presentation. 3. Choose Insert|Table from the main menu. 4. Choose "OK" to accept the default of 5 columns and 2 rows. 5. Enter "m" or another suitably wide character in the first row and column. 6. Click and drag the right border of the first column to its minimum size. Observe that the right side of the m is clipped. If you don't see it, try increasing the cell's font size. The Tables in Impress draft specification says, in section 1.7.1, "All cells must be big enough to format and display all its text contents without clipping or over painting their borders." This is a very minor but also very common issue. The preferable way to fix this would be to have the column borders enlarge when the text contained within becomes definitely too large to fit (e.g. if the font size is enlarged). Also, the user should be unable to shrink a column to the point where this issue occurs if the text is already there.
Reproducible. Reassigned.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
