Description py_delavennat 2008-09-30 14:52:43 UTC
Issue: Quickstarter looses track of font display attributes

Summary: If we import a document from a PC, with a specific font loaded, to
another PC without this same font, the writer is able to display this unknown
font correctly, but only once !

Scenario: If we import a document using font Monotype Corsiva, say 16 pt, bold,
using the following text:

AAAAAAAAAA BBBBBBBBBB CCCCCCCCCC DDDDDDDDDD EEEEEEEEEE FFFFFFFFFF GGGGGGGGGG
HHHHHHHHHH IIIIIIIIII JJJJJJJJJJ KKKKKKKKKK LLLLLLLLLL MMMMMMMMMM NNNNNNNNNN
OOOOOOOOOO PPPPPPPPPP QQQQQQQQQQ RRRRRRRRRR SSSSSSSSSS TTTTTTTTTT UUUUUUUUUU

When we open this document for the first time, and the writer has just opened
for the first time, we should see the text over approximately 3 lines.

If we save/close the document and open it a second time OR if we open a second
document to paste the text in, the font display is altered by a wider spacing
between characters and words and the text will display over 4 or 5 lines.

If you close your document and re-open it, the problem will persist.
However, if you shut down the Quickstarter and re-open the document Once Only,
the font will display correctly. At the second opening, the problem will re-appear.
Only the shutting down of the Quickstarter before opening the document will
allow to work with this document correctly. All Writer instances must also be
closed together with the Quickstarter.

Conclusion: It looks to me that the Writer is able to extract the font correctly
from the document but that the Quickstarter is recording incorrectly in memory
the attributes necessary the re-display the font used previously.

MRU->ES: sounds as if the font replacement is good in a first try, but when
using a second time it misbehaves. Reported on 2.4.1, didn't we fix it for 3.0?

@HDU: Reproduced on Windows Vista with 300m52 (future 3.2)
- Open the attach document
-> the paragraph formatted as Monotype Corsiva at page 1 displays like
screenshot 1 (first_load) that I will attach.
- Reload the document (File - Reload)
-> the paragraph formatted as Monotype Corsiva at page 1 displays like
screenshot 2 (after_reload) that I will attach.
