Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 95418
Installation: "Transfer personal data" checked, settings not used
Last modified: 2014-03-12 07:17:43 UTC
I just updated 2.4 to 3. Even though I checked "import settings from old version" during install, my toolbars and keyboard shortcuts were not migrated. I had to copy them manually from %old_user_dir%\registry to my new user dir.
In OpenOffice.org 3.0.1: File menu - remove export Standard toolbar - remove print file directly icon New toolbar - arrow styles unchecked, restart numbering checked In AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1562493 Rev.1562493 : File menu - export is present (Fail) Standard toolbar - print file directly icon present (Fail) New toolbar - arrow styles unchecked, restart numbering checked (Pass)

It's completely unclear what that mysterious "personal data" might be (Birthday? Credit Card number?), there is no info on <http://www.openoffice.org/download/common/instructions.html> So we can't decide what is intended, what not, and what of Edwin's problem collection is related to problems here or to different bugs. I am working on a correction for installation guide and will submit a bug report tomorrow. When information concerning "personal data" has been added we can decide what exactly the problem here is. @Edwin: Can you please submit separate bug reports for the details you observed? It might be useful to start with one and wait for comments. My experience is that computers of busy QA testers show problems other users do not observe because of the lots of installations and uninstallations we do
Sorry, for me this bug is unambiguous and reproducible.
I asked for info what that function should transfer in "Bug 124408 - Improve AOO Installation Guide"
