My Setup:
- Mac OSX 10.5 latest updates
- MaxBook Pro 15" (1440x900)
- HPL2045w external monitor set as main screen with 1050x1680 resolution (so
rotated 90 degrees to the right, set in Display prefplane)

How I can recreate it:
Just by starting OpenOffice it shows picture 2. 

When is the bug not happening:
With no second monitor attached is does work.
Or if I don't rotate my screen.

I have been using Impress on a HP Envy X2 Tablet PC running windows 8 and have experienced a similar problem with the program crashing when the auto rotate occurs.
I have been able to prevent the crash by switching off the auto rotate option in settings, but wanted to let you know in case it is the same issue as the one already mentioned.

BTW- thanks for making the open office program available free, FANTASTIC!
