Description dskene 2008-11-23 00:32:00 UTC
Often when using trendlines there is a need to allow to user to specify a y
intercept, often 0. Currently this is not an option. The user does not have the
capability to input the required y intercept. As such, the trendline produced
is often inadequate for the user - thus forcing them to have to use another
program such as Excel.

This problem is already tracked in issue 34093. Please read the discussion
there. The problem is not so clear as you might think.

Actually, the problem is quite clear. The understanding of why it is important
is not clear in issue 34093. There are many scientific examples where the data
is supposed to go through zero. I will describe a real life example in issue
34093 and you will understand.
