Description bmabuse 2008-12-03 09:00:36 UTC
After changing the "UserInstallation" in bootstrap.ini I am not longer able to
change Java settings.

No JREs are found in the settings dialog, after adding a JRE manually the
changes will get lost after leaving the dialog via "OK".

Changing back the "UserInstallation" in bootstrap.ini to the default path will
bring back this to full functionality.

This issue is reproducable on any of my computers, Windows XP SP 3.

@ bmabuse: You have to use a file url to change the path for the user
configuration folder.

Thanks for your fast help!

Now I changed the bootstrap.ini and it works fine:
  UserInstallation=file:///S:/OOffice/Users/$USERNAME

I
used "http://de.openoffice.org/doc/setupguide/2.0/netzwerkinstallation_windows.p
df" as a help for my installation (a german network installation guide).
There only is described that you can change the user folder, but nowhere is
said that you must specify "file:///" if you change the name.

I will contact the author and ask to add this information to his guide.
