Description Unknown 2002-11-30 02:21:44 UTC
I have an existing file "paper.sxw" with 6 graphics. When I try to save it in
HTML format, the result is not good. And some times when I open the HTML file
and try to do something with it, the program hangs.

Please try the following reduplication steps:
1. Open an existing OO text document, "paper.sxw" (ItÂ’s a paper in 2-column
frame, and with 6 graphics)
2.Without changing anything, save this document in HTML
format, "paperInHTMLformat.html".
3. Close this document. A warning message will pop up "Saving in external
formats may have caused information loss. Do you still want to close". Close it
anyway.
4. Open the "paperInHTMLformat.html", you will find that the HTML format file
is in pieces of different sizes and lengths, which is obviously not what the
user wants.
5. Check the properties of "paperInHTMLfomat.html". #of pages is 7, #of words
is 207.
Check the properties of paper.sxw. "#of pages is 3", #of words is 295.
   (Reproduced on Win2000/OO643C)

Sometimes when I try to do something with the HTML format file, program might
hangs.

Sometimes, I just minimized the "PaperInHTML.html", and did other
things, for example, writing the bug report. The Writer might hang.

Jiehua, thank you for using and supporting OOo.

One problem per issue please. Please post new issue for each problem
that you encounter. Please zip up any HTML attachments.

OOo does not crash when I try to edit the HTML file that is created.

Unable to duplicate on RH 8.0, OOo 643c.

Will test on Win2K later.
Comment 5 prgmgr 2002-12-03 03:07:02 UTC
Unable to duplicate on Win2k server SP3, OOo 643c.

Editing the HTML file generated from Paper.sxw in either Writer or
the HTML editor does not crash OOo.

ES->OD: can't reproduce the freeze either.
But the HTML output shows 3 üpage which is not normal.
The original doc is only 3 pages big, so it can't be a dup of issue 12127.
Maybe because of the footnotes? The columns?

reloading the the HTML doc and swithing between Writer/online layout I
get following assertions. Hope this helps:

FILE : O:\SRX645\src\sw\source\core\access\acccontext.cxx at
line 1250
ERROR : "child context should have a size"

FILE : O:\SRX645\src\sw\source\core\access\acccontext.cxx at
line 1127
ERROR : "invalid vis area for dispose"

FILE : O:\SRX645\src\sw\source\core\access\acccontext.cxx at

ERROR : "Vis area of child is wrong. Did it exist already?"

OD (16.06.2003):
accepted.
Bug cause: columned section are correct formatted in online view/in HTML.

The assertions, mentioned above, doesn't belong to this defect. ES
will submit a new task for the assertions.
Comment 11 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2003-06-16 12:06:24 UTC
OD (16.06.2003):
Missing *not* in my previous comment for the bug cause: "columned
section are *not* correct formatted ..."
Comment 12 eric.savary 2003-06-17 16:39:59 UTC
ES, FYI: Accessibility assertions are filed in iBIS under #110296#
Comment 13 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2003-07-03 10:42:46 UTC
OD (03.07.2003):
As the QA reveals, there is no 'freeze'/'loop'.
I will address the incorrect formatting of columned section in online
view/in HTML. Thus changing title of defect.

According to the OpenOffice.org roadmap
(http://tools.openoffice.org/releases) this issue was retargeted to
OOo Later.
Comment 16 Christophe Strobbe 2013-08-08 12:19:43 UTC
I could not reproduce any freezes (or crashes) while using this test file, saving it as HTML or while editing the HTML output in Apache OpenOffice 3.4.0 on Windows 7. Save as HTML results in a single HTML file (the images are output in the same folder). I only get multiple HTML files when I take the SXW file (or an ODT files) and go to File > Send > Create HTML document.

Apparently nobody has reproduced a crash or a freeze in this scenario since 2003...
