Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 96936
Report built with wizard can't execute query
Last modified: 2009-09-30 09:42:17 UTC
I created a quite complex query. To get it easier to read, it spreads on several lines in the sql query editor. If I try to execute the query, it works fine. Then I run report wizard. Everything goes fine : all the fields of the query are detected. Final step, I finish the report and try to execute it : it crashes and gives me a msg box containing the whole query and telling me it cannot be executed. I finnaly found the reason why : if you open the "report source" and go to the "command" section, the value field contains the query of the report : the query is converted by the wizard from multi-line (in the sql editor) to single line WITHOUT adding any space between the formerly existing lines If you remove what's in the "value" field, then the report works fine.

@jcrovetti - I have tried to duplicate the failure using the embedded database model w/ 3.0 on Linux. Although I can see where the command is 'concatenated w/out a space' as you show in this case the report does not fail. (hsqldb embedded) - it appears that you are connecting to MySQL, is that correct? - I am changing the priority on the issue to a P3 per the standard issuetraker documentation, see http://qa.openoffice.org/scdocs/ddIssues_EnterModify.html#priority
Hi, I use a Mysql database. Sorry, I should have been more precise.
and which connector do you use? Do you also try this query with the Sun-Report-Builder?
