Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 9704
Insert table with Max+1 rows, undo causes system hanging.
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
Insert a table with Max rows (3276 rows) and add one row. Undo it causes system hanging. Replicating steps: 1. Open a new text document on Writer. 2. From menu bar, select Insert -> table, a dialog loaded. 3. Change row from 2 to 3276, click on OK. 4. A table with size 5*3276 is inserted. 5. From top bar, find “Insert row” iron, click once. (Or from menu bar, select Format -> Row -> Insert, and insert one row) 6. The size of this table is 5*3277 now. 7. From menu bar, click on “Undo”, system hangs.
Was able to replicate this bug in following configuration Platform: PC OS:Win XP NT 5.1 Version: 2600 Note: I tried to follow up with a minor variation to check out whether its the same as in case of columns.I tried to insert maximum number of columns and keeping the default settings for the rows. The result was that a table with 2 rows and a no columns came up though after some time. Even though the application didnÂ’t crash with the same procedure Also I tried it for a value as low as 2000 below which I was able to insert and undo insertion of column without any problem. Above this my system hung. As far as this bug is concerned, it is highly unlikely that such a scenario will occur where in a user have such a large number of rows for his details. But in certain instance such as database having huge records being imported into such a file, might cause problems.
Reassigned to MRU
MRU->DVO: The system does not hang, the Undo proces just needs its time (almost a minute). When using the "delete row" button, it only takes a few seconds.
