Hi, In Openoffice.org 2.0.X, I can just press "Ctrl" to move the cursor site to the screen center vertically in writer. I love this very much, I think this is a pretty good function that MS office doesn't have, but it was canceled (2.4.X to 3.0.0) . Would recover this function again, please? Maybe it could be a customizable option in "Tool > Options > Openoffice.org > Accessibility" (just like attachment "ctrl.png"). Thank you very much~ Sincerely, minhsien0330
Created attachment 58944 [details] Make it an option please~
Created attachment 58945 [details] The function should look like this.
I don't know about such a feature we had with only pressing Ctrl. Which version of OOo did you use at the time? A special distro build?
Hi, es~ Thanks for your reply. It should not come form special distro build. At least, I use this function both on Linux or Windows. I tried to find the old Openoffice.org version to show you this function, but I cannot find any tarball earlier than 2.4.X now. Only version 2.0.1 for windows can I found on "oldapp.com" [1]. I tried it and I am sure version 2.0.1 has this function exactly. I found someone reported this feature as "a problem" on windows XP in issue 58532 [2]. However, I still think this is a pretty good feature, I can move the cursor to best position on screen and find the cursor site quickly through it. I wish this could be a customizable option, allowing users to enable it. Thank you~ Sincerely, minhsien0330 Note: [1] http://www.oldapps.com/openoffice.htm [2] http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=58532
I had a look into OOo 2.0.0, 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 and none of these builds had the mentioned accessibility option. Maybe this option was part of a special distribution's build. Reassigning this to requirement as an "request for enhancement".
Reassigned to requirements.
Hi, mru~ I tried again, I found only the "Right Control" had this function in Version 2.0.1 for windows (downloaded from "oldapp.com"). Thanks. :)
