Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 9756
lines on the left margin disappears after opening the saved file
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
OOP Version: 643C (Writer) Operating System: Window XP Bug in the display (“->” means click by mouse) 1. Open OpenOffice 2. -> File -> New -> Text Document. 3. ->Show Draw Functions (it is on the left side of the page). It will open a small window named ‘Draw Functions’. 4. ->Freeform Line. 5. With the help of mouse, draw lines everywhere on the page. Draw it on left side, right side, bottom, and top of the page (play with it). 6. Save the document. Close the document, and then again open it. 7. Observe the page. Note that everything has shifted towards the right side. While playing with the drawing tool, I draw on the left side margin, but now it is all gone. For any question contact "Saad Ahmad" at sahmad@fit.edu

back to ES, happens on save/load.
ES->MIB: concerns sxw and sdw. Didn't happen in a 569.
Eric, I cannot verify this in the recent build. Can you please chack this.
.
Reproduced again in a 645m3s1 In fact you need to Draw a Free Hand line across the document *trespassing* the border of the page. When reloading the document, the draw object is aligned to point 0:0 of the page even if before it had minus values as coordinates.
Drawing objects that extend the page borders are not supported, and it is in fact a bug if it is possible to draw free lines that does so. In fact, the object's positiion is not only changed when loading or saving files, but also when adding a new paragarph in front of them. Since this bug is not a data loss, I change the priority to P5 (that is for instance defined a "slightly inconsistent user interface")
According to the OpenOffice.org roadmap (http://tools.openoffice.org/releases) this issue was retargeted to OOo Later.
