Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 97728
Named multi-ranges incompatible between 2.x and 3.x
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:42:43 UTC
In version 2 $SheetX.$A$1;$SheetX.$C$1 is a valid reference for a named reference (Ctrl+F3). In version 3 only ($SheetX.$A$1;$SheetX.$C$1) is valid. Both syntactical variants are incompatible to each other. See http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=13839 for further reference and example file.
I think, that in OOo3 the concatenation operator is a tilde. After entering it with semicolon it is converted automatically to tilde. So it should be ($SheetX.$A$1~$SheetX.$C$1). But the problem remains, that a tilde is not converted to semicolon when saving in ODF1.1 format, and the other way round, a semicolon in named expressions is not converted to a tilde when importing an ODF1.1-document. I have used OOo3.0 and OOoDEVm37 on WinXP.
