Can reproduce it with DEV300m37 on WinXP and Fedora

How to reproduce it 
1 Open a new Drawing or Impress document
2 Right-click on a drawing page or slide to insert a new page or a new silde
3 Double-click Default on status toolbar

Result
Double-click Default can't display Slide Design dialog 

Expectation
Can show the Slide Design dialog

When having the focus in slide pane the double clicking onto "default" in status
bar has no effect. But having the focus in the main drawing area I can call the
slide design dialog. Is that the problem you are describing? Thanks in advance.

Not only clicking onto "default" in slide but also clicking onto "default" in 
drawing area has the same problem.
What I described in this issue mainly focuses on the action "Double-click onto 
Default on status bar".
Now, pls pay more attention to the following describing.
If there is a Impress file just include one slide page, then "Double-click onto 
Default on status bar" or Format - Slide Design, can invoke the Slide Design 
dialog;
But, if there are two slide pages, e.g. 'after create a new slide page', then 
Format - Slide Design, can invoke the Slide Design dialog; but with the action 
via "Double-click onto Default on status bar", can't invoke the Slide Design 
dialog
