There should be no arbitrary limit on how many steps you can undo. Or if you feel you have to put in 
some limit, make the limit 100x bigger than it is now.

Dear developers, 

I second this. Me too, I quite often crash the limits of "undo-ability" in
OpenOfffice. It is not very convenient to save the file in a second version,
perform the changes and eventually drop the new file and use the copy. 
I assume that this limit is an artificially one introduced due to slow
performance of computers some years ago. In this case, a solution to this issue
should be very easy.
