Hello I have successfully replicated the bug on Impress using OOO320m4 (build:9450) under the default settings of OOO Also identified that by disabling hardware acceleration under graphics output this issue is no longer seen Summary Impress: Slide show does not work through NetMeeting Environment details • Open Office Build : OOO320m4 (build:9450) . • Two PCs o Windows XP – SP3 o Microsoft Windows Server 2003 • Windows NetMeeting 3.01 Test Data • Not really essential as any presentation will suffice, loading a test.ppt as attachment Replications steps 1. Establish a NetMeeting connection between the two PCs – Calling PC – PC1 & Receiving PC – PC2 2. Launch Impress on PC1 and open a presentation 3. Share the Impress application in NetMeeting on PC1 Validation Point: The presentation is visible in normal view in PC2 through NetMeeting 4. In PC1 start Slide show, Impress (Press F5), presentation is in Slide Show mode Validation Point: Expected Behavior: In PC2, slide show is visible of the presentation Actual Behavior: In PC2, only a black screen is visible (screenshot attached) and unable to view the presentation Follow-up Tests • Repeat test using different input files, .odp, .pptx for Impress o Result is still a black screen when slide show mode is started • Repeat test by disabling hardware acceleration o If you go to menu “Tools >> Options >> OOo-dev >> View” and uncheck the “Use hardware acceleration” option, the transmission of the slide show presentation begins to work correctly. (Test suggested and solution found by my friend Rafael Sartor) • Repeat test using Microsoft PowerPoint - : o In PC2, the presentation is visible in slide show mode when PowerPoint is used Impact to Customers The issue has an impact to customers who would like to use NetMeeting for sharing & viewing OOO presentations in slide show mode, as the presentation is not visible using Impress. But by “disabling hardware acceleration” this issue is resolved and is a viable option to view slide-shows. This particular behavior can be a potential for documentation if not already present

(J Johansson, 2010-03-20) OpenOffice Impress: OOo-dev 3.3.0 DEV300m75 (Build:9488), default settings OS: Windows XP Professional SP2 NetMeeting: 3.01 Graphics Card: NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M Language: English Succesfully reproduced the issue in OOo-dev 3.3.0 DEV300m75, sharing Impress from a Windows XP SP2 to a SP3 machine. Only the mouse pointer is viewable on remote machine, slide show stays completely black. Steps were same as zhongqiyao and lohitverma's. I also tried slide shows using .pptx files and creating .odp files in different ways. As in lohitverma's experience, test data did not seem to matter. Also checked that MS PowerPoint can be successfully used for sharing presentations. My installation of Impress did not have the option to disable hardware acceleration, because option “Tools >> Options >> OOo-dev >> View >> Use hardware acceleration" did not exist. Thus lohitverma's work-around was not available. I searched the OOo-dev help in my installation and it said "The support for hardware acceleration is not available for all operating systems and platform distributions of OOo-dev." I did not have time to research where/when the support would be available. The laptop itself should be a top quality choice for mobile corporate users, with a graphics card upgraded for moderate gaming. In a professional setting, you would have to use MS PowerPoint instead to share a slideshow with netmeeting participants.
(J Johansson, 2010-03-20) Correction to my earlier note: lohitverma's workaround of disabling hardware acceleration was available and sharing slideshow over netmeeting was successful with it. I had tried to find the option in “Tools >> Options >> OOo-dev Impress >> View" instead of “Tools >> Options >> OOo-dev >> View".
