How can I/we open a new master document and add files to it so we can re-number
the pages and build a TOC ?
Comment 1 ooo 2001-06-15 15:55:31 UTC
We do not accept new features for the next relaese, but I have a workaround:

You can create a new master document from the Desktop component with
XComponentLoader and the factory URL of a master document. Then simply use the
API for linked areas, like in a normal TextDocument. This is what a master
document is. Does this help for the time being?

release (OOo 2.0 or whatever it will be named).

According to OS there is no specific API for master documents
necessary all is the same.
There is the single flag though that defines if linked sections should
automatically loaded/saved or not.
Comment 8 ooo 2003-09-16 12:07:35 UTC
What was meant by a special API for master documents was an API to
easily handle sub documents, thus a wrapper for dealing with linked
areas if I understand the implementation right.

This issue can be solved by:
- either specifying, implementing and documenting such an API
- or just by documenting how master documents can be handled

Specifying means as IDLs, documenting means in the Developers Guide.

just a poke since we've hit 2.0 now...

Sine the target is OOlater there won't be anything done yet.
Someone needs to determine/reevalute that this should have OOo 3.0 as target or
OOo 2.0.x before anything happens. We just have to many issues to take care of.

Reevaluation of the targets usually happens at some point after the release of a
new version but I think it has not started yet.
