Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 98881
Transparent Image won't paste into Openoffice correctly
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:42:50 UTC
1. In firefox copy image http://mvyps.org/~MaryLee_Carlomagno/00E2AF40-000F4C52.2/math-calculus-diagram-DHD.gif 2. In writer or calc, right click and paste. 3. you will see a black box instead of the image that was copied
I too have encountered problems recently! From "Picasa 3" where I have photo albums stored, I can copy photos, but when I try to "paste," there is no functional "Paste" available! Also, when I upgraded to Version 3.0.1 from 3.0 I no longer seem to automatically save in ODT format; (It just says .text?) I noticed there was a much larger difference in content(3.0=323MB whereas 3.0.1=142MB). When I downloaded to my Windows XP system, could I have lost something? I have 18 Chapters of a book I am writing, and only the first 15 are saved in ODT. All was fine before my upgrade! The reason I am attempting to use this system is because Word crashed on me before, and I lost half of my work. I can't afford to do that again! aaronfielder@frontiernet.net
Did you try reinstalling: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/How_Tos/Starting_With_a_Clean_Installation
openofficeiscool, Not sure who you were directing that comment to but yes this is easily reproducible at least on my computers and virtual machines. I first saw this issue on the Ubuntu build and then verified it on the official OpenOffice.org build.
Changing summary slightly, this also happens with PNG images that have a transparent background. However, Insert >> Picture works fine with the same image.
Still broken in milestone 300m68 (3.3).
