At least on unxlngi6.pro DEV300m41,

  $ .../soffice http://www.openoffice.org/index.html

shows splash screen, then five subsequent boxes "Continue checking at beginning
of document?" (and it appears irrelevant whether you answer "Yes" or "No") and
only then the document window, where the toolbar area (below the menu bar) is
left gray (not showing any toolbars).
