Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 99515
The text orientation is wrong is Arabic version
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:33:52 UTC
Steps: 1. Open a Spreadsheet in Arabic version. 2. Input "abcd" in a cell. 3. right click and select "Format Cells..." in pop-up menu. 4. Select "Alignment" tab in "Format Cells" dialog. 5. Input "30" in "Degrees" field in "Text orientation" section, then click "OK" button. Problem: In step 5, the string preview in "Text orientation" is +30 degree (right side is higher than left); However, after clicking "OK", the string in cell is -30 degree(right side is lower than left).

Hi: I tried in OOo-dev 3.1.0, OOO310m2(Build 9385)for Arabic, which from <ftp://ftp.rz.tu- bs.de/pub/mirror/OpenOffice.org/extended/developer/OOO310_m2/>, the problem still exists.
I checked with "Ooo 3.0.1 (DE) Multilingual version GERMAN UI (CTL activated) WIN XP: [OOO300m15 (Build 9379)]" and can confirm the reported effect. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open attached "sample.ods" 2. right click on sheet 1- tab and change "sheet right-to-left" and vice versa expected: text orientation should remain actual: orientation seems to be "mirrored" as if algebraic sign of orientation angle changes with every sheet orientation modification That seems to be wrong to me, but my bidi knowledge is too small to decide whether we have a bug here.
